I would opt to tone down the gold tone if it is too bright for your taste (which will change, also a lesson learned this week!) I would suggest you try rubbing on a bit of rub n' buff in a cooler gold tone. The product comes in several tones, available at Michaels.

JanellJanell @ House of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01098486064588035649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353166892329944748.post-11483285640360023882011-04-20T13:19:04.827-04:002011-04-20T13:19:04.827-04:00I think the mirror might look better against your ...I think the mirror might look better against your bedroom walls since they are a darker brown ---Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11784825966340743698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353166892329944748.post-49235462628461498782011-04-20T12:25:49.144-04:002011-04-20T12:25:49.144-04:00Honestly, I think it looks fine with the dresser a...Honestly, I think it looks fine with the dresser and even with the angle of the ceiling. It ties in nicely with the pulls on your dresser. What's off (at least to me) is that it's not centered directly over the dresser and I think that's throwing everything else off. Try moving the dresser a few inches to the left...it'll center up with the mirror, won't be so crowded in the corner next to the railing, and I think it'll come together.

Just a thought...Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09986516761652379541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353166892329944748.post-46414731603590162842011-04-20T11:49:59.539-04:002011-04-20T11:49:59.539-04:00I love the mirror and thinks it needs a bold contr...I love the mirror and thinks it needs a bold contrasting color to offset the neutral walls. I'll be honest though, I don't think I'd paint it....I think it would look great as is in your bedroom against those chocolate brown walls, but it also looks great with the teal. I agree though that it seems a bit lost on the wall its currently on....maybe if you had some sconces or tall lamps on either side of it?Averillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05758556623588696377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353166892329944748.post-36849105996339252562011-04-20T10:45:36.957-04:002011-04-20T10:45:36.957-04:00I have a (gold) narrow mirror that I laahove but u...I have a (gold) narrow mirror that I laahove but used it in sort of a "gallery wall" above our sofa ...

Here's a possibly odd suggestion - but I'm going there - what if you tried hanging it upside down?

I clicked on your blog update because of this color combo -"teal" and gold- love it!Angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12507619177636343716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353166892329944748.post-62200000895287282892011-04-20T09:27:44.749-04:002011-04-20T09:27:44.749-04:00Lakeitha, I love that mirror but I agree, it looks...Lakeitha, I love that mirror but I agree, it looks small on this wall and odd with the ceiling placement. Since this is in your family room how about a grid of photos above the dresser, like the one you posted here

http://home23duncanboys.blogspot.com/2009/08/amethystits-more-than-just-my.html

- botanical prints seem to be all the rage right now or an eclectic gallery wall something like this

http://pinterest.com/pin/5152207/

I think the mirror would be very regal in your MB :)Stacy of KSWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12312309129805115365noreply@blogger.com
