CHALKBOARD PAINT

I have yet to use chalkboard paint in my home. Not because I don't like it, but because I have not found a place that I think it would work. I've thought about using it in my boys (nick and Bren) room, but I want to use it somewhere that would benefit me too!

So I got to thinking....My refrigerator would totally be cool if I used chalkboard paint on it!

Don't you think so?! Or did I just lose a few of you as followers?!!!

Have you or do you plan to use chalkboard paint in your home? Or, do you think its a bit played now and its time to move on to something else? Come on, let me know your thoughts!

I love the use of the chalkboard paint for the refrigerators. I'm sure you will find a wonderful spot to doodle with chalk. :)

I certainly hope it's day is not over, I'd have a lot of redoing to do in my house!! :) I don't know if I'd start with a fridge, but perhaps a big framed chalkboard besides the fridge would be a great way to try it out! Good luck at the school today! Janell

I like the use of chalkboards, but I personally wouldn't use it on my fridge because when and if you plan to resale the potential buyers may not like it. I use a big framed chalkboard in my kitchen.

I'd skip your fridge.....maybe on the on the wall itself of framed. Totally off subject but floating shelves above your cabinet (thats solo on the way) would look so nice!! I can picture glasses and plates etc....

We have a chalkboard in our dining room for when friends are family come over I can always welcome them in a unexpected way!

I still love it. I'm currently looking for a big frame to use it in our kitchen.

I like the idea of using chalkboard paint on your fridge -- seems like an appropriate place to put it (as opposed to say, behind your bed where you'll just get chalk dust all over your sheets!).

Make sure you do it on SUPER smooth board or it won't work / erase properly. I say make a huge frame on the bare wall next to the frige, that would be awesome!

The wall beside the fridge would look good. Have you seen the wipeoff marker paint ?!? I wouldn't do the fridge either...something goes wrong or resale the home, others may not like it.

We've got so much in common it's almost spooky! I was playing around with the chalkboard idea last month and was all set to move forward until hubby put his foot down ... he hasn;t heard the last of it though ... I'm sure I will eventually wear him down!!

My idea ... to chalkboard on our kitchen cabinets - the "wood" is peeling & we can always repaint, right?

These kitchens gave me the idea:

And I even considered only doing the doors like this:

That way it would be easy to fix or change when we outgrew it

What do you think? Could I pull it off?

You know I'm a fan. I like it in a kitchen especially when you have a family.

Anywhere in the kitchen is great and I too am still looking for other places to use chalkboard paint. You know, I just can't let it go to waste. It certainly makes for a cool looking fridge. Or doors, or walls, or pretty much anything. Go with it!
