I have been a little busy around these parts… It’s time for me to finish up a few painting projects before I can move on to other things I need to do like start on family room, or paint my kitchen cabinets AGAIN.
The first project that I’m starting on is painting the rails that are currently honey oak
I really should have finished this a long time ago. But for some reason, these kind of painting projects intimidate me. I can take on an entire downstairs living area with no problem, but I do not like the smaller more tedious paint projects.
As you can see, paint drips all over this one! I’m just a slacker sometimes
Anyway, I got out my supplies
I think every project I do includes something I’ve found on clearance!
I used tinted oil based primer because the paint I’m using is a really dark brown
Espresso Beans by Behr Paint from Home Depot. It’s the paint and primer in one, but I use primer with this stuff anyway…
Anyway, after a good sanding and wiping and taping of the area I’m working on first, I began to prime
Then I let the primer dry overnight before I sanded it a little and started painting
It was kind of hard to get a good picture of the dark color
While that side was drying, I had to hurry and get the other side sanded and primed before it was time to pick up the boys from school
I’ll show the finished stairway probably next week…I have to do the kitchen too.. Now that is going to be a pain!
