WE’RE BACK!!!

Oh I can’t tell you how happy I am to be home! Not that we didn’t have a great time, but because there is nothing like waking up in your own bed and taking a shower in your own bathroom! That was the first time any of us had been away from home that long so we weren't use to living out of a suitcase that long!

Anywho, Our stay at Stone Mountain was great!  The boys really had a blast and not to mention the fact that their cousin was able to tag along!

 vacation 005

This picture make me laugh so hard! He actually wasn’t waving.  He was telling me leave him alone! I guess I was taking too many pictures;-)

These guys were great! For a second, I could see Nicholas contemplating doing something similar at home!

vacation 014

I swear Brendan would trade us for a bottle of bubbles!

vacation 010

We road the Duck! this was probably the best thing we did at the park! Its a vehicle that rides on both land and water.  The best part, each child was given a chance to drive the Duck in the water!  Afterwards, when we were back on land, we were able to use our quackers to sing along to the song “Who let the Dogs Out?”!  So so COOL!!!

Okay, enough of Stone Mountain, lets get to Savannah!
vacation 016

After 3.5 hours of driving riding, I was so excited to see this sign!  Our hotels address was 700 Drayton Street!

vacation 020

Our hotel room was beautifully designed

As soon as we dropped our bags and freshened up, we hit the streets of Savannah!  As you can see, I wasted no time taking pictures!

vacation 028

Our first stop, Paula Deens restaurant! We were able to get in without reservations! Partially because they thought I was Beyonce;-) Or maybe because we agreed to sit at the bar in one of the last 4 seats left in the whole place! I’m thinking its because I look like Beyonce….

The food was great! A buffet of southern style food (collard greens, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, black eyed peas, lima beans, pork loin, cabbage, mashed potatoes, rice, etc).  Man it was good! I tried so hard to eat 2 plates, but I wouldn’t have been able to walk out of the building! Tony, on the other hand, had no problem with that!

vacation 031

After dinner, we did a little site seeing before darkvacation 034

vacation 035

vacation 053

We found SCAD theater, but nothing was playing until July 17th which was too late for us:-(  Plus as you can see in the picture, a storm was brewing so we had to hurry back to the hotel.  While I’m at it, did you know that Savannah gets as much rain as Seattle?  Well, that’s what our waiter said at Paula Deens.  He said that it rains there just about everyday….Whaaa?

vacation 077

later in the week, we made it over to Hilton Head Island where for some reason an alligator was spotted in the water (YES and ALLIGATOR)

vacation 072

See where all of the people are standing?  Well, we were there too until the lifeguard said there’s an alligator in the water get back.  Some move away from danger, and some move towards danger! As you can see, we moved away!

vacation 073

This guy decided to go into the water to catch the gator with a fishing rod…..  Did i mention that the lifeguard estimated the size of it to be 6  to 8 feet? yeah, okay Mr. Fishing Rod!

vacation 079

This is the lifeguard! I had no problem listening to anything he said!  sigh….

Oh and yes we were still at a distance, I just couldn't help zooming in;-)

Oh and later that night, we ate at Paula Deens brother’s restaurant Uncle Bubbas

vacation 080 The best southern seafood I’ve had! And on a side note….Paula and her brother fry everything…

And of course Tony loved the food!

vacation 081

And once again we had to hurry back to the hotel because of more heavy rain!

We really had a great time! Savannah is a city that is really worth visiting.  Although most of the tourist were older people, I could see that us youngsters are taking notice to this gem of a town.  I look forward to visiting again soon!

I have another post about our trip to Savannah that involves the boutiques! But in the meantime, stay tuned for more updates to the Big Boy room, Master Bedroom, and my Patio!

Love your blog! I went to Savannah as a kid, but have been wanting to go back ever since..I remember vaguely a place we ate at that had a pirate cave inside of it(?).. Anyway, something like that- it was really intriguing to me as a six year old and even now. How scary to have an alligator in the water at the beach!! I mean you think about sharks and jellyfish, but alligators?! That is so scary.. I would have definitely gotten out of the water too.. That gator might have been looking for lunch..Glad you guys had a great time in Savannah!
