DO YOU HAVE A CLUE?

It's almost been a week since my last post on my new office/craft/storage/all girl/all mine space and I wanted to give you some clues as to how the transformation is going. Here are the first set of clues:

Maybe it's obvious but I'll give 5000 points to the people who guess what these clues mean!☺
My office aside, aren't these some really nice spaces?!! So inspiring. Sorry it's been a while since the last post, but I've really been doing some soul searching while doing this project. Things in my life have been a little different and it's hard to adjust. Nothing too serious I guess. I mean it's not like this blog is changing to home24Duncan anything so I guess it's not that bad! I've just been a little lonely so I have to get to know myself all over again (does that make sense?). You never realize how much friends mean until you no longer have any. I'm trying to figure out how, why, and what happened right now, but hopefully I'll be back to my fun and happy self soon. Clue #2 will be tomorrow.

***If any of these pictures belong to you, or you know where they are from please let me know because I would love to give credit where credit is do.***

IF I HAD MORE SPACE AND DEEPER POCKETS....

These are just a few desk that I would love to incorporate into my office/inspiration/craft space:

This desk is by Johnathan Adler and I love the color and the clean lines, but not the $1250 price tag

Another desk with clean lines, the Parson Desk by West Elm. Simplicity at it's finest. Seamless drawers and a lacquered finish makes this desk great for male or female and for $299 it's pretty reasonable.

This little 'lady' is the LEKSVIK desk from IKEA and the price tag is great ($139). All she needs is a little sprucing up! I'll go for pink and add a glass knob to the drawer for her jewelry! Her nice curvy legs says all woman and would add a feminine touch to a young girl's rooms or a confident fashionistas office (after the sprucing up of course!).

Last, but definitely not least, this dream of a desk by Barbara Barry (oh how I love her so). This is the ladies desk by Ms. Barry and it's also one the loves of my life! I would put this in my bedroom if I didn't have a room for an office. I probably wouldn't use it for a desk at all because of how pretty it is. I would have it set up like it is in this photo. This has to go with the things that make me SWOON! I just wish I had the nearly $6000 to pay for it.

CORRECTION

Okay ladies, I know I said that this is going to be my office, but is it fair to call it an office when lots of other things will be done here? Should I call it a craft room, inspiration space, office, or just MY SPACE?!! I have a house full of men and nothing in here really says girl except for my side of the closet in my bedroom! I want a space just for me that can be as pink as I want and as girlie as I want. You know how men have man caves, and garages, well that is what I want this space to be, but for me!

I am smitten with the first picture below↓ I love the pinks and browns and the green on the walls, but I don't think that the drawers would be functional in my space.

This photo↓ says Hi my name is L.Duncan and I create all things pretty! I love the cool color palette because it allows all of the materials in the room to be the pops of color.

This picture↓ just reminds me that I need to learn how to sew! I do however love the LACK shelves from IKEA.

Sooo my reason for this post is to ask you guys this: How I'm I suppose to incorporate these rooms in to my very small, very dreary, very uninspiring space?!

I have a hard time picking colors that work well together. I only want to paint this closet ONCE (except for when it's time to sell!). What would you do to your own space? Oh and by the way, Target's collge '09 items are on clearance so I picked up some of the pink/fuscia/purple small storage containers and trays. The color is similar to SW Juneberry 6573. It is like the darker pink in the first photo. I will be making my first (and hepefully only) trip to IKEA next week so I hope to have the painting done by then.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any?! Or am I REALLY in over my head?

SPACE? WHAT SPACE?

*********************DO NOT LAUGH*************

Here is my office closet that I am turning into my work inspiration space. Yes I need a laptop, and yes there are wires everywhere, and no I don't know how this going to work out or look for that matter, but yes I'm going to attempt to make this little space work!

The desk is a cheap knock off similar to West Elm's Parson Desk. It's part of Walmart's college line. I've seen a few desks that would look a lot better and I'll show those soon.

Tell me what you think and stop laughing at me! Should I give up now?

SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE...AND BUGS!

Tomorrow I'm having our second annual end of summer party. I started it because I wanted my kids to get at least one more FUN day in with their cousins before the summer completely ended. This year the theme for the party is BUGS! There will be tons of creepy crawly bugs everywhere, which is funny because I am terrified of All bugs (even butterflies!). I know after having a house filled with youngsters and friends and family, my labor day celebrations will be very minimal so I'll probably just have a laid back Sunday and Monday and watch one of my all time favorite movies "Somethings Gotta Give". And for those of you who haven't seen the movie, it's a must! Not only will you get in a few laughs, but some nice eye candy as well. Check out a few of my favorites:

I love love love Diane Keaton and all of her films! And I loved seeing Jack Nicholson play his role.

I'LL TAKE TWO PLEASE...

I know that I'm probably the last person in blog land to post about these, I couldn't pass up putting it out there that I heart these chests! And since I don't have a couple of thousand dollars in hand right now, I'll just have to keep drooling over these unless I find one at a Goodwill or salvation army from someone who didn't have a clue!

And I will never forget the first time I saw these chests. I was watching my all time favorite movie (SEX and the City), and I was mesmerized! I mean out of all the beautiful pieces in the room like the desk, the desk chair that Candace is sitting in (like I know her personally!), and that fabulous chair that Carrie is sitting in (SWOON), those black and gold Dorothy Draper chests had me at hello!

And while we are talking about 'Sex and the City', let's not forget how Carrie's apartment underwent a very nice "Redesign" that equals pure FABULOUSNESS!!

I can't wait for part 2 of "Sex and the City", I always get a little bit more out of the movie than just the script. I always pay a lot of attention to the background and the clothing!
