NO FUSS HOLIDAY

If you’ve been reading my blogs for a while, you know that I love color! Like LOVE color.  But lately I’ve been crazing a palette for my home that lacks a lot of color.  Have any of you experienced that? It’s completely the opposite of what I have been wanting for years.

Along with less color, I’ve been wanting to do less as far as design goes.  Just something simple and cozy.. Could it be the weather?

I think its because of my life as a blogger.  You know, tweeting, pinning, Facebooking, blogging, etc.. All of those things entertain my eyes for hours, so when I close my laptop, I want them to rest. How will they rest if I have color, pattern, and stuff everywhere?

The holidays are upon us and I have already pulled out my décor.  When I started going through everything and putting together my ideas for a Chiang Mai inspired Christmas

I had to stop that idea quickly as it had already started to give me a headache!

So now I’m to plan B

A simple holiday that that is mostly inspired by nature.  Who gets tired of nature?

So for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I’m going with lots of greenery, pinecones, burlap, twine, and wood.  I may throw in a a little purple for good measureWinking smile

As of now, a Christmas tree is not on my list of things to do either.  Do we really need to have a tree up every year?  I don’t think so!

What about you?  How are you decorating this holiday season?

Ha, too funny about the Chiang Ming Dragon inspired Christmas...it could be completely cool, but I hear you! I'm going simple this year. But the tree...my kids would miss it and so would I.

Amen to simple! I'm going simple too! I'm actually on the hunt for a white tree - I've wanted one for years. This is the year I'm going to get me a white tree!!!

Dreamy!! All of my Christmas decor is "country"...think pipberry, hand-quilted tree skirt, country ornaments in red and green. I'm ready for something new and fresh, but I don't know if hubby will go for it. I'll just live vicariously through you. :)

p.s. I'm glad you decided to keep blogging!

Yes!! You have to have a tree!! Trust me you will hate it if you don't and so will those sweet little guys that live with you. Traditions are so important for families! Being older and wiser I know this for a fact!!! My kids are probably your age and they still expect certain things at Christmas and tree being one of them. Laekitha you have to have a tree!!! xo Kathysue

Ooooo I love having a tree but I guess it's what works for you. Personally, I just LOVE decorating for the Holidays... so fun! And I love both colourful and muted palettes for the season! Hope you are well!

I love these all year: greenery, pinecones, burlap, twine, and wood. Ok maybe not the pinecones.

The natrual looks is going to be pretty, this year were keeping the same colors but using lots more white and creams so it doesn't distract from our normal decor, and a tree is a my our oldest would miss it and its the babies first Christmas too :)

I usually put up two trees and this year I am only going to put up one. So I guess I am going for simple too! But I am doing a more natural palette too. I tell ya, great minds think alike!!
