MY KITCHEN… THE TOPIC OF THE WEEK

Good day peeps! So um yeah, I’m talking about my kitchen this week.  Wait, before you click off of the page, I need your help with a few things.

kitchen04

I need a rug.  Do you like rugs in kitchens? I do.  I have one, but I’m not sure if the size is good.  I’ll show you this week and show you some examples of kitchens that have rugs in them that I’m smitten with.

Another thing that’s on my list to finalize is seating.  Yes, I have those bistro chairs that I painted turquoise, but I really want a bench seat in my kitchen, too.  I’ve seen benches with round tables, but are they functional? I found this bench at Marshalls that I fell in love with and I love it in my kitchen, but again, the round table with the bench is bothering me since really only one person can sit on it at the table to eat.  hmmm… More on that later in the week.

My table is just…Well, it’s NOT my style.  Let me rephrase that, the color is NOT my style.  A fresh coat of paint will take care of that, right? Right! I originally wanted Kristen to work her magic and make it look like a farmhouse table, but then I thought about the top of it.  More on that this week too!

Bamboo blinds look great in my kitchen, just not at all of the windows.  It took me months to realize this.  Better late than never, right? I’ll show you what I’m talking about… (yep, later in the week!).

Le’ Crueset (dutch ovens) look great in kitchens don’t they?!?! I love them, but unfortunately I don’t have a few hundreds to pay for one. So what did I do? I went to Homegoods looking for a Cuisinart version and didn’t find one.  So I “settled” for the next best thing.

I purchased this casserole pot for $12.99 just so I can have the look of the real thingSmile

Be honest, you can’t tell it’s a casserole pot can you?!

I don’t think I showed you guys the kitchen cabinets after I finished painting them.  Here are a few more shots of the kitchen before I sign off!

I love the two tones.  I laugh every time someone come over and say that they like the color that I’m painting my cabinets and then say they can’t wait to see them finished.  You should see their faces when I say they are finished. They obviously didn’t get get the two toned cabinets are totally “in” memoWinking smile

Your kitchen looks gorgeous! and your crueset works for me! Find the right rug & get your table painted and I know you'll be in love with it too. I know I've asked before ... but I'm going to ask again, what happened to the beautiful bird tablecloths you were going to use as curtains by your table? I think those would pull some color and pattern to your space, and look great with the blinds!

oooh, and a nice graphic or striped roman shade above the sink could really seal the deal!

And for the record, love to two tone. Those are the colors I would do if hubs would let me touch our kitchen :)

Looking good, lady! And I do like rugs in the kitchen. I have an old oriental runner on my sink wall that gives me a little cushion and hides all those little spills! Stop by if you get a chance, I'd love to get your opinion!

The pop of turquoise looks fantastic!! Could you take that as a clue for other colors? And paint that table I say, I'm doing mine right now. Well...not right NOW, but this week. Janell

I like rugs in my kitchen, too. Oh yes, you have to work on those bamboo blinds. But, your kitchen looks great; it just needs a little something to light up.

Oh yes, Lakeitha! The bench seat is what makes a kitchen multi-functional. Believe it or not, it’s a must-have piece of kitchen furniture because, aesthetically speaking, it looks gorgeous in the kitchen! However, you should always consider the space in your kitchen. And consider the table too. Hmm, why not change the round table into a square one?
