WORKING IN THE CORNER…Inspiration Board Complete!

I managed to finish the inspiration board for my “work space” that I’m creating in my bedroom… Yesterday I asked where I could go to have cork board cut to size not realizing that I could go to my garage!

Last year, my SIL gave me this bulletin board

MESSAGE BOARD 002

Hoping that it would fit into the frame, I brought it up to my bedroom last night.  It was larger than the frame (which was better than being smaller) so all I had to was figure out a way to cut it down.

Good thing I found this at Goodwill months agoSmile

Have you guys noticed a pattern here? I ‘m working with things that are either free or has come from Goodwill!

Once removing the frame from the bulletin board

and prying off the frame, I figured out how to cut it to size for the frame

MESSAGE BOARD 016

To be honest, I seriously just cut this thing with my best guess in the measurements… Did I mention that I was doing this at 11pm?

After cutting the board, I stapled it to the frame

And if it wasn’t for my sloppy cutting job, it would have been fine as is…especially with a white painted frame!  But because I knew I was covering the board, the flaws didn’t bother me.  Since I was using fabric, I opted to use nailheads to hold it in place.  I also did it this way just incase I wanted to change out the fabric one day.

I am excited about the way it turned out! Now I really need to get started on that table.  But, that won’t start until next week.

So, what do you guys think? Love it or hate it?!

This is very nice. And my aren't you resourceful. I would have saw that saw in Goodwill and not even guessed at how to use it, lol. Good job. Can't wait to see how it all comes together.

Great job! I would love to see a picture of the floral display that's next to your cork board. I would like to try and recreate that look in my guest bedroom. Please share :-)

Love it? I'm doing the same thing with a large gilded frame I have. You are so lucky you had that bulletin board from your sister in law to use!

I like the nail detail!
