GIVING UP THE MASTER BEDROOM FOR THE KIDS

Lately I've been tossing around the idea of converting our master bedroom into a room for my three boys.

Don't you all gasp at once!  The master bedroom is the largest of the 3 bedrooms in our home and since my boys now share one room, I was thinking this just seemed like the right thing to do.  They will have not only more bedroom space, but more bathroom space as well since they'll inherit that, too:(

If you've been following me for a while over here, you may remember when my oldest had his own room.  That didn't last long because he could never stay out of his brothers room.  Now, of course he wants his own space again, but it's too late because it's now my office!

The other two always shared a room.  Here is a picture of their old room design.  Pardon the poor image quality as I could not locate the original picture that was used in the newspaper.

The only concern I have about my husband and I switching rooms is the space at the foot of the bed between the bed and wall.  What would we do as far having enough space for a dresser?  If you notice below, it doesn't appear to have much space left.

For now, this is all just a thought.  A really highly likely thought.  I think decorating a smaller bedroom for me and my husband would be a walk in the park!  What are your thoughts?  What should I think about before making the switch?

BEDDING FOUND…Oh, and a bed!

After my walk last week, I stopped in Target to check out what they had to offer as far as bedding is concerned (Thanks Janell for the tip!)

Here is what I found

IMAG0944[1]

a solid colored comforter.  I usually don’t purchase comforters because I have a duvet and I like duvet covers, but this one isn’t that bad!

IMAG0946[1]

It’s not too thick and it does not feel too cheap.

IMAG0947[1]

Plus I love the tone on tone pattern on it.  It gives it just enough interest without being to busy.

I should have bought this pillow (below).

Another thing I found was a coverlet.  I’m not all that in love with coverlets either, but I have a light-weight blanket that I can layer on my bed with it.

I didn’t purchase either of them because I have been going back and forth with my husband on getting a new bed.  We seriously need a bed and I want a king, but he likes the price of the queen… We currently have a queen and its fine, but when the kids come piling up in the bed then that’s when it becomes a problem.  My three year old makes his way into our bed EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT…

Anyway, we went ahead and purchased a bed and yes it’s a queen.  I was fine with that decision last night, but now that I’m typing it out, I want a king sized bed…

So, what size bed do you have?  Those that have a king, please tell me what I’m missing out on.  Those of you that have a queen size, would you prefer a king???

This is crazy! I can never fully make up my mindConfused smile

AM I FINISHED WITH THE BEDROOM OR NOT?

That’s the question I’m asking myself.  I have everything in this room that I wanted when I started planning the design for it.  So why is it that I don’t consider it complete?

I have a headboard

I have nightstands and lamps

I have curtains on the window

005

I have a beautiful chandelier

641

I have a vintage dresser and ornate mirror

I have a gallery wall of pretty wildflowers

I have a chair and side table

I have all of this in my bedroom, but I still don’t consider it complete…. WHY???

Oh, I remember… Because I still can’t find the right BEDDING!!!!

QUICK QUESTION: Chair or Table?

I’ve been going back and forth on if I wanted the table to stay in the bedroom of if I wanted to be done with it and put the chair that I found in its place.

I’m sure you remember the table, but for those of you that don’t (and the ones who need to see it again), here it is

Not bad, but not good either. I just couldn’t get the thought of it looking like a banquet table out of my mind.

all I kept picturing was a round version of this

Not a good lookSmile

So, I finally convinced myself that I could indeed bring the chair up to my room all by myself (my husband obviously forgot I asked him several times).  Here it is in the room

You must excuse the fact that I took these pictures with my cell phone!

And let me share a glimpse of my business cards with you while I’m at it

Abby of Flair Designery created these cards for me and I cannot be more pleased with them! Like seriously, I’m so happy with the outcome, I can scream! ahhhhhhhOpen-mouthed smile

Here is a better picture of them

Anyway, back to the situation at hand… Table or chair???

MASTER BEDROOM…A chair, a friend, and a baby?

Hello my friends! I’ve so busy with getting things together for my other blog Swoon Worthy Boutique, that I’ve been slacking around here.  Okay, here’s what’s going on…

The table that in the corner of my room

Well, I’m having a hard time liking it! I know that I am to keep going until I’m done, but when I continue to work around something that I’m not sure I really like, I tend to get uninspired.  What are my plans now?  Well, yesterday I purchased this chair

 IMAG0492[1]

It’s actually in pretty good condition so for now I’m just going to have it stem cleaned and then put it in my room.  I think I’d like that a lot better than the table!  And on top of that, my pillow covers are scheduled to arrive today! I’m glad you guys like them.  My friend Myssie and I have been going back and forth about these.  We both LOVE the print.  So once she ordered the fabric for herself and sent me a picture of it, I had to get them! Thanks Myssie!

MASTER BEDROOM: Table Reveal!

Hellllooooo out there! I’m back today for the not so thrilling reveal of the table in my bedroomWinking smile

You remember what I started out with, right?

I decided to paint the top

Then I showed you the during stage of me “stapling” the fabric around the table

I haven’t finished off the bottom of the skirt nor have I added the ribbon trim around the top of the table to cover the staples.  I’m trying to see if I like it.  I think a more free flowing fabric with some type of print would look great on the table (don’t you?).  Now I need to find a fabric that I think would work…

For some reason I’m getting a banquet table vibe from looking at these picturesOpen-mouthed smile
