GIVING UP THE MASTER BEDROOM FOR THE KIDS

Lately I've been tossing around the idea of converting our master bedroom into a room for my three boys.

Don't you all gasp at once!  The master bedroom is the largest of the 3 bedrooms in our home and since my boys now share one room, I was thinking this just seemed like the right thing to do.  They will have not only more bedroom space, but more bathroom space as well since they'll inherit that, too:(

If you've been following me for a while over here, you may remember when my oldest had his own room.  That didn't last long because he could never stay out of his brothers room.  Now, of course he wants his own space again, but it's too late because it's now my office!

The other two always shared a room.  Here is a picture of their old room design.  Pardon the poor image quality as I could not locate the original picture that was used in the newspaper.

The only concern I have about my husband and I switching rooms is the space at the foot of the bed between the bed and wall.  What would we do as far having enough space for a dresser?  If you notice below, it doesn't appear to have much space left.

For now, this is all just a thought.  A really highly likely thought.  I think decorating a smaller bedroom for me and my husband would be a walk in the park!  What are your thoughts?  What should I think about before making the switch?

I HAVE A NEW SPACE TO DECORATE

Well it’s not really a “new” space, but the type of space I will be creating will be new to us!  As you know, my oldest son had his own room.  Well, after two years, it just didn’t work out.  What I couldn’t stop from happening was him not welcoming his brothers in his room and I witnessed him being a little mean towards them (like slamming the door and screaming at them if they tried to come in).  That didn’t sit well with me.  After much thought and back and forth, I decided that they will have to share a room until they “like” each other. I’m such a great mom, right?!

So the room has been cleared out

Totally different from this, right?

So what’s in store for this almost finished being cleared out space? Here’s a tease

With a little bit of this thrown in

Oh yeah! And I know what you’re thinking.  She took that baby’s room for her own personal use.  Well, let it be known that I do plan to wedge out a corner for the boys in this new spaceSmile

Happy Friday!

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

I told you you that I'm inspired by almost anything. Well here's another example of how easy it is for me to think up a space.

Take this image above. I walked into IKEA and that was the display. Whats so special about it? Nothing really. But the colors of the throw pillows sent my mind into a frenzy!

Here's the thing, I'm starting to pull together things for Bren and Nicks room and I already know that cars will included somewhere.

So when I saw the pillows together on the bed in IKEA, I immediately thought up the color scheme for the room: White, black, red, and yellow!

This image only confirmed my color scheme! So, here's what I'm thinking: White walls, chalkboard paint, stripes and chevron, red dresser, and pops of yellow! I can't wait to start on this room! I know it's gonna be a fun project!

So, what inspires you? Are you easily inspired?

IF IT WAS A SNAKE IT WOULD HAVE BIT ME

I'm almost finished with my master bedroom, and I can't help but think about my next project. I think I'm ready to start on the boys room

Before I post about any plans for the room, I've been busy trying to pull together some of the big pieces for the space. One of them being a campaign dresser. They are all the rage right now and one painted a fabulous color like red, yellow, or blue would look great in the space for what I have planned for it.

Nice right?!

Well, I was over to my in laws yesterday celebrating my husbands grandmothers 95th birthday (amazing right?), and I stepped away to change Brendan's diaper. I've been in this room so many times its crazy, but this time, I noticed this

WHAT THE HEEZY?!

Not only do they have a dresser with mirror, but the headboard too (not that I need the headboard or mirror). Oh, and not to mention, I was given the chest of drawer when we moved into our home and my husband tossed it out because he got tired of it sitting in the garage:(

I have to have this piece. Do you think I could work out some type of arrangement where they would just give it to me?! Have this ever happened to you before?

Sharon, if you're reading this, help me out on this one since they are your parents;)
