Paint & Party two of my favorite things!

Today Melissa at 320 Sycamore is having a party!

She is asking us to name some of our favorite colors. Here are a few of mine:

This is my living room that I painted "toasty 6095" by Sherwin Williams. This is a nice warm brown with a peachy under tone. Its very warm and cozy, but it seems to work better with rusty orange accents with dark wood tones.

here is a close up in different light. Make sure you test colors out before buying them because they tend to look different once you get them home. I personally purchased a paint deck from Sherwin Williams which is only $10 which saves you a trip back and forth to the store picking paint swatches.

I also used SW Toasty in my half bath that is in my family room. I plan on using a color one or two shades lighter in my family room and kitchen so the rooms can have a good flow from one another.

This is a ~sneak peek~ at my master bath that is not done yet. The color I chose here is Sherwin Williams Interesting Aqua 6220. Its a cool color that really needs some warming up in a bright place like my bath that has a large window.

I absolutely love this color for my master bedroom (this picture is from house beautiful). I love the deep brown with white and pale blues. Soooo luxurious. If anyone have a similar paint color that would mimic this dark brown please let me know!

Here I just painted a stool and put new fabric on the seat part. I spray painted it and the color is Almond by Krylon. I'll show before photos in another post.

And this is my boys play room. I LURVE this color now. Its so playful and energetic. This color is Dynamic blue 6958 by Sherwin Williams. Its a bit bright (okay a lot bright!), but its fun and my boys like it so its staying.

well that's it so far of my favorite colors. Please head over to Melissa's page for more colors

Hi,
I am a Sherwin Williams fan also. I looked through my color deck and SW6076 Turkish Coffee or SW 6083 Sable looks close to the dark brown from House Beautiful. I like the Aqua in your bathroom, but since it is on the cool side of the color wheel, I can see where you might need to warm it up. Good luck on your dream of doing something in design. It is a fun and interesting field. Drop by my site anytime, it is nice to meet new friends. ~Cathy~

I have Toasty in my master bedroom. It's too close in color to my furniture.... so while I love the color in everyone else's room....it's not working in mine. Bummer!!!!!

Love your rooms!

I'd try Turkish Coffee from Sherwin Williams. I painted my kitchen with that color, and it looks very similar to the House Beautiful picture you posted. I love it!

My kitchen is a dark brown- Chocolate Curl by Olympic (at Lowes). It might be close to the house beautiful color. LOVE the aqua bathroom!

I LOVE that toasty!!! Super classy. And the aqua bathroom is also gorgeous!
Take a look at 'Mudslide' from Sherwin Williams, for the dark brown. Good luck!

Oops, Mudslide is from the Lowe's American Tradition line.
You can view it in Shannon's home 'The Blessed Nest'. She's the participant right before you. : )
