WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH THIS?

These are some swoon worthy chests from Wisteria. I've seen similar chests used in bedrooms, bathrooms (seriously), and even living rooms.

My question is: What would you do with this chest? It's smaller than the average chest of drawers, but larger than a night stand. Oh, and it's cheaper than the the chests from Wisteria that would range from $999+. This one is going for $35 (or should I say I purchased it for that price!).

HAVE YOU FELL INTO FALL?

I'm pretty sure that you've seen these very creative ladies work around blogland. They have totally inspired me to go ahead a do a few crafts of my own. Until then why don't we swoon over their work and a few ideas I found while surfing the net...

PANTRY PROBLEM

When we moved into our home I noticed that we didn't have a pantry. Actually I knew it when we purchased this house, but I didn't mind it at the time. Well it's been a little over a year now and boy do I mind not having a pantry!

By the way, I did finish the cabinets!!! I will post them soon.

As you can see, I don't have much cabinet space. I have 3 boys and a husband so I need a lot more storage than what I have. So my solution is to turn my coat closet that is next to my kitchen and inside my dining room into a pantry. I mean really how many coats does five people have?

Maybe I should have cleaned it up a bit? Oh well too late! Yeah I stuff things in there when my husband tell me that "his" garage is becoming over crowded!

Do you see my DVF luggage tucked away in there? SWOON! Anyway... back to the topic at hand....I. WANT. A. PANTRY!!! Maybe like these:

OKAY, OKAY maybe like this one!

Yes this is it! There is not too much I'll have to do to replicate this pantry (just add more shelves). So once I finish the one I'm working on now, I'll move on to this. What is your next project?

***My first giveaway is coming tomorrow (hopefully) for my followers. So if there is anyone out there who have been following this blog but not following this blog you still have time! You can always follow when I post the giveaway, but why not do it now so I can "meet" you already?!!!***

THE TALE OF TWO CHAIRS

I'm pretty sure you've seen the two chairs that Janell (Isabella and Max rooms) purchased and had redone. If not then you can read about them here. Well ever sense I saw her chairs (not to mention their transformation), I have been on the look out for my own. Yesterday was the day! My mom wanted to stop at a Goodwill before we headed home and guess what was there waiting....

Not one, but two of the exact chairs that Janell have. ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME! What are the chances of that happening? This is the best part...They are $25 each!! Okay so why am I still talking about the chairs as if I don't own them? Because I don't. I didn't have a way to get them home:( But, there is a possibility that they can still be mine. Right now as of 6:38pm the chairs are still there. If they are still there at 9:00am tomorrow morning then they are mine! Guys please, please, please cross your fingers for me, because I really want those chairs. I wanted them before I even knew they existed! And if you're still wondering why I want them, then you obviously didn't go to Janell's blog and look at hers so go there now!

Edited to add more pictures of the chairs now that they are home! I do have to have them redone. Besides the seats being hard, the fabric is a 1970's gold color that goes with absolutely nothing in my home! I've never had anything reupholstered before, and I don't have a clue as to where to start. Have you ever had to redo furniture and if so share your experience.

NO TO LACK SHELVES, BUT YES TO PROGRESS...

Today I risked my life to go to IKEA for the LACK shelves (in which their website clearly stated they had 79 of). After looking around a bit, I got down to business to get my shelves and head home. I saw blue shelves, red shelves, brown-black shelves, and of course Birch shelves, but NO white shelves. What? Are you kidding me? Who does that? Atlanta had a major flood yesterday (I mean major) and I get up and drive down town Atlanta for 2 shelves out of 79 and you mean to tell me that they are all gone? Okay...I'm calm! Anywhoooo, I asked a guy at customer service if he knew when another shipment was coming in and guess what he said... IN A WEEK OR TWO. What? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WHO DOES THAT? Okay...I'm calm! Soooo for another WEEK or TWO I will be shelf less:( but I did manage to gather a few accessories and fabric for my new space and instead of playing more guessing games with you I figured I'll show you what I've been up to:

Sorry for the picture. That is the best I could do with brown walls and no flash and an old camera!

Here is the plan for the space:

The closet is 67" wide and the LACK shelves come in either 43" and 74" so I'm going with two of the 43". My plan is to put one starting on the left side and the other starting on the right side above the other (does that make sense?).

The white desk that I already have will be put back into the space, but more to the left of the space (which will still give me plenty of leg room). On the right side of the closet, I'm adding the closetmaid organizer like the one below, but in white and instead of nine cubes it will have six.

I've purchased four raspberry photo boxes from Target on clearance for 3.98, a few of the IKEA KASSETT office storage, and I have two message boards (one in the picture above) that will be covered in a very nice pink, brown, white and green strip fabric that I found on sale at Hancock fabrics.

I have a chair that I will show you a before and after soon, but I'd rather have this chair(minus the $99 price tag):

I do need a lamp and a few other things, but for now I must wait. Wait on my LACK shelves before I do anything else, because without them my vision is shot!

By the way, the color of the walls is Cliveden Virginia Soil by Valspar Paint from Lowe's and I have no complaints. It went on like a dream and didn't need two coats (I did two).

Soooo, what do you think? Did I paint the walls too dark? What color chair would you add to the space? Do you like anything I've done so far? Is this your first time on my blog and you're clueless as to what's going on? I know you're out there! Let your voice be heard!

I'M JUST BEING HONEST....

What a surprise! Daryl over at Vermont Cottage has awarded me the Honest Scrap Award! First off let me say thank you because I've always seen blogs that have been awarded this or that and wondered how I could win such a thing! So now it's finally my turn and I'm going to treasure my first award!

Here are the rules I must follow, upon receiving this award.

1.) Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award.
2.) Share "10 Honest Things" about myself.
3.) Present this award to 7 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me.
4.) Tell those 7 people they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving.

You want 10? I'll give you 10!!!

1. I have an addiction to shopping. If you know me then that probably is nothing new!

2. I've always felt like I have to struggle with who I am. I'm completely different than MANY of the people that are around me and at times I feel uncomfortable. That is one of the reasons why I started my blog.

3. Friendship is a big thing for me. There is nothing better than having good friends who you know are going to be there thru everything.

4. I hope to have a boutique one day. It will be a little resale consignment shop of things that are Fabulous but Forgotten!

5. I someday hope to meet some of my favorite bloggers that inspire me.

6. I have learned that your past can make or break you, but it is up to you to decide which path you choose.

7. This one is probably one that I hate the most, but I'm being honest right? My shoe size is..... okay never mind.... I've had blond hair before and I'm never going back!

8. I have a hard time staying focused. I will start one project with an idea in mind, but half way thru it I'm ready to change EVERYTHING!

9. I have never been to another country and I plan to change that real soon!

10. I get up every morning to see what everyone in "blogland" is doing. You ladies are what really keep me sane!

So now I would like to present the Honest Scrap Award to the following blogs:

1. www.isabellaandmaxrooms.blogspot.com
2. www.getitgirlstyle.blogspot.com
3. www.designinglifeinmiami.blogspot.com
4. www.itssoverycheri.blogspot.com

CLUE #2

Yesterday I started what you would call a guessing game that is going to lead up to the reveal of my new "personal" space. So here is clue #2:

I think that I'm making these clues a little too easy, so maybe I'll do something a little harder tomorrow!
Suzanne guessed a little part of the room so she gets 1200 points out of the 5000☺
"Greedy girl" guessed a pretty good part of the room so she get 2200 out of 5000☺

Now the question is: What can you ladies buy with points?!! If you find out let me know!!

***If any of these pictures belong to you, or you know where they are from please let me know because I would love to give credit where credit is do.***

DO YOU HAVE A CLUE?

It's almost been a week since my last post on my new office/craft/storage/all girl/all mine space and I wanted to give you some clues as to how the transformation is going. Here are the first set of clues:

Maybe it's obvious but I'll give 5000 points to the people who guess what these clues mean!☺
My office aside, aren't these some really nice spaces?!! So inspiring. Sorry it's been a while since the last post, but I've really been doing some soul searching while doing this project. Things in my life have been a little different and it's hard to adjust. Nothing too serious I guess. I mean it's not like this blog is changing to home24Duncan anything so I guess it's not that bad! I've just been a little lonely so I have to get to know myself all over again (does that make sense?). You never realize how much friends mean until you no longer have any. I'm trying to figure out how, why, and what happened right now, but hopefully I'll be back to my fun and happy self soon. Clue #2 will be tomorrow.

***If any of these pictures belong to you, or you know where they are from please let me know because I would love to give credit where credit is do.***
