We’re Hitting the Road!

Hi everyone.  I’ve been super busy getting things together for our family vacation!  Then I remembered that I didn’t let any any of you in on it (well, you know if you follow me on twitter!).

Our vacation will be split into two parts.  Half of the days will be will the kids here

We are taking them to Stone Mountain Park here in Stone Mountain Georgia (which is about 20 minutes away from our home).  This park has so many things to do and is a must see for any visitors to the metro Atlanta area! We usually go for their fire works and laser shows that they have EVERY NIGHT! But, there is so much more to experience at this park and that's why we decided to lodge there!  We will be staying at the Marriott Evergreen (second photo) which is nestled right inside the park.  My husband and I stayed there one year and it really felt like we were somewhere else.  The park has everything you possibly need! So I know that will be super fun for the boys!

Now for the second part of the vacation! After we’ve somewhat exhausted the boys, we will be leaving them with grandma and grandpa and heading south to Savannah Georgia!

(Gotta love your in-laws!)

I am extremely excited for this portion of the vacation! I’ve been to Savannah twice, but never really had the chance to enjoy such a romantic city.  I love all of the architecture and small shops and eateries.  Oh I can not wait!  We will be staying here

When I saw this hotel on Marriott's website, I knew it was the one for me us! Check out the inside

And the pool!

We probably won’t be at the pool since Tybee Island is 20 minutes away.  I mean seriously, why go to a pool when you can go to the beach?!

Anywho, The hotel is located directly across the street from Forsyth park.  One of the most beautiful parks in Georgia!

I can’t wait to eat at Lady and Son’s restaurant (Have you heard of Paula Deen?)!

She is one of the best southern cooks there is and she has an amazing home in Savannah! Get this, her restaurant is so popular on a daily basis, that you must line up outside at around 8:30am to make a reservation for lunch or dinner because the restaurant is usually booked by noon!

Then there is SCAD theater which I heard is a must see while in Savannah.  I wonder what's playing?!

Not to go on and on about our trip ( I’ll do that on Twitter!), but I did want to let you guys know where I’ll be in the next week or so.  I also want to share a few must read blogs that I enjoy daily to hopefully tithe you over until I return

Isabella & Max Rooms: great home decor blog.  Janell is an all around great designer!

Emily A. Clark: Emily is a designer as well! I love her use of color and her southern charm!

Get it Girl Style: Tamara is a true blog what you like kind of girl! From great shoes, to great finds on ebay and craigslists, to a great haircuts! She will even dress you if you ask!

Blu Label Bungalow: Erika’s blog is read almost like a magazine.  She has some great images, but she takes the time to break down aspects of the images and give you ideas to use in your own home.  Her blog is a great place to start if you're just starting out in the “world of design”!

Chic Modern Vintage: It is truly a  collaboration.  If I missed any good blogs here, trust me, Tonia has them featured over on her blog! And Adrienne’s posts on Fridays are a must see!

Chic Little House: Mrs. Chic and her husband are outright do it yourself(ers)! And their house is so cute!  They never disappoint!

1 Funky Woman: What can I say?! This is one funky woman!  Another blog what she wants kind of blogger! But trust me, Megan posts are never a not read!

Thrifty Little Blog: Kasey has made it to a year of blogging, but it seem like she has been blogging for a while! I am still in love with her kitchen! And she did it on a budget that I can afford! Check her out!

Odi et Amo: Averill is a girl after my own heart! Anyone that is not afraid to use Chiang Mai Dragon in a design after people have said that its overly used is a friend of mine! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that fabric and I plan to use it too!!! Make sure you check out her shop like a design blogger series!

Sophistication & Style: Tara is in the process of designing a nursery for her new baby girl! She also does floral arrangements for weddings and parties.  I always check out her blog for some of the prettiest pictures!

Okay so there you have it.  A few of my favorite blogs for you to check out while I’m away.  I promise to take lots of pictures and I will be tweeting every chance I get! I will me micro blogging at my best!

Have a great weekend and I’ll be back soon!

have fun--both places are fabulous! the evergreen is so nice, and you're right--it makes you feel like you're nowhere near atlanta! i know the boys will love it! savannah is an AMAZING city too! i stay at a b&b called the armstrong inn and it is my FAVE. you will love walking downtown with your boo :), and will find some great antique shops if you get a chance to peruse. i tried to do paula deen's but you're right--the line was too long, and there was so much other delicious stuff to eat! i think her brother has a seafood place that we went to, and it was quite interesting!

anyhow, i've said MORE than enough. :) hope you have a fab time and take lots of great photos. drive safe!
