Hello out there! If you’re still interested in what I have to say, I want to let you know that I have started on my youngest two boys room! What is the final inspiration for the space?
That’s right! Very cool sports cars! And what do they all have in common? A stripe? Black? Chrome? Blue? Yes! Yes! Yes! and Yes (except one)! If you are following me on twitter, then you’ve seen the paint color and a peak at the beds! You were also able to see my mishap with primer! For those of you who don’t tweet…No worries, I got pictures for you too!
The wall color is growing on me! And no, that stripe is not chalkboard. After thinking more about my 4 and 2 year old, that wouldn’t have been a good idea! Don’t worry. It’s not going to be just a big black stripe!
The bed is the MALM platform bed from IKEA. Nick insisted on a black bed.
Here is my starting inspiration for the room! Nick handed me one of his favorite hotwheels and told me he wanted his room to look like it! Umm…Okay Nick!
And the worst thing that could have happened….I spilled the primer on the floor. I asked (on twitter) if I should get my carpets professionally cleaned or purchase my own cleaner. Many said get it done professionally. Well, after this happened, hurried to Target to grab a cleaner while my sister was at home scrubbing and soaking my carpet. Guess what? The spot is GONE!!! See in the picture of the bed? The foot of the bed is where the primer was.
I’ll post better updates on the room next week! What are your plans for the weekend?!

This is looking great! Love the black stripe, it breaks up the blue and the bedframe is perfect. You need to post more about this room stat...and the carpet?! Yikes, I can't believe it came out!! My kids served me breakfast in bed last weekend and guess what got spilled? Coffee!! I managed to get it out of the carpet and ivory felt rug...barely. Sounds like I could have used your advice.
Have a great weekend. Janell
The room looks FABULOUS!! I can't wait to see the rest & I can not believe you got all that primer out of the carpet. My oldest had a bloody nose all over our couch last night (no, not the new one) I wasn't as successful as you in getting that out :(
The room is looking great! I love that chalkboard stripe around the room, but I seriously want to know what you used to clean that carpet.
I can't wait to see the reveal! It is looking awesome! I have spilt a can of paint on my carpet before and it cleaned up beautifully! I am so glad yours did too!

I love where this design is going! The blue and the black stripe has me on edge. Will the completion of this job be as speedy as its inspiration???
Great job getting that primer out of the carpet. You must've waved your magic carpet wand. I need to get one of those!
I'm so glad (but surprised) that you were able to get it out. Relief...
I'm excited to see what you else you've done with the room but I know that you've probably got a few other things going on besides decorating? :-) When you post I'll definitely be here, though!
