FALL CRAFTS: DIY napkin rings

fall crafts 108 fall crafts 111

Now that Halloween is over, its time to think about the next few weeks that lead up to Thanksgiving. And since I’m planning on having a few more people at my dinner table this year, I I figured it would be great for everyone to know where they’re sitting without the hassle.

While at Michael’s trying to figure out what to use so soon to expire coupons, I came across some wooden leaf cut outs and the first thing that came to mind was napkin rings!

Here’s what you’ll need

wooden leaf cut outs (.29 cents each)

acrylic paint

paint brushes

some type of natural string (hemp, jute, or twine)

glue gun

Step one: Choose your base color for your leaves

(make sure you have some free help on hand!)

After your base color dries, it’s time to decorate!

Once your leaves are dry, it’s time to attach the string to the back.

turn the leaf over (we painted the back of the leaf too) and squeeze a dab of glue of glue in the middle of the leaf

add another dab of glue on top of the knot

Once the glue dries, you’re done! Now all you have to do is tie your napkin rings around your napkins!

(I used some left over fabric)

Easy right? How many of you will have handmade napkin rings at your dinner table this Thanksgiving?!

These are just adorable...you are a girl after my own heart: Put those kids to work!! Seriously though, isn't it the best when kids can have fun working on a project with you?

Cute craft--I wish I had more patience for things like this :) It usually ends up with a huge meltdown by my kids--or me.

Adorable! I made some last year using toilet paper rolls, burlap and foam type leaves. :-) So yes, I will have homemade. Just don't tell my guest that under it all is a TP roll. ;-)
