BOYS ROOM: sourcing furniture

Hi guys! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! With temperatures here in the 70’ s on Thursday, there were no complaints from me! And yes, I had a very good “black Friday”!  Now that all of that is behind us, it’s time to get back to business in the boys room!

We last left off with me showing you the “street” on the wall

Now it’s time to find furniture foe the room.  Originally, I planned to put a desk between the two beds.  The problem?  I didn’t take the right measurements as far as the beds are concerned.  Now I must find a nightstand that will fit and not look cramped and that will work for the design of the room.

Here are two that I’m considering at the moment

slick cubes

These cube type tables are at Target.  I think they are really cute and the boys would love them! I’m not really sure how they would look between the beds and they only have black and white available.  Yes white would look fine, but thinking back to my inspiration

I think that some type of metallic table would look great to represent the chrome found on cars!  With that in mind, I think these tables from West Elm would look great

I think the silver finish would be perfect for the space.  And I love the shape.  At $129, the price is a little high so I may look around a little more before biting the bullet and ordering them.  After I decide on the table, I will have to find a dresser or chest of drawers because my campaign dresser that I planned to put in the room won’t fit… darn!

Which table do you like, the cube or the West Elm table?

I like the West Elm table...it shouldn't be too hard to find some comparable. I was thinking you should paint a stripe down the middle. I luv how the room is turing out. Grood work!

It looks like the beds are low so you can get away with a lower table between them...I like the Target table because it looks like it has a larger surface. Are you planning on placing a lamp on the table? I love all the colors!!

I thought about you when I went out and braved the crowds at Joann fabrics on Saturday...it was so busy you would have thought it was Black Friday! Yikes!

HomeGoods had the smaller side tables for about $59. I saw them in white, but a can of metallic spray paint may help.

I love them both, so it would be hard for me to decide, but I'm sure that you'll make a fabulous choice for the room.

I think it would be great to use the Target cubes. They are so cute! You can use metallic paint to create the chrome color you're looking for. Happy decorating!

I do love the West Elm tables, but the cubes would be a great alternative. I second Nicole Marie's suggestion to consider an less pricey alternative with a great shape and give it a coat of metallic paint.

I love the silver in the West Elm table, but I'm sure the price on the Target piece is MUCH better!

Several people mentioned this...any chance you could buy the Target table and give it a coat of metallic paint?

I was going to recommend the one from west elm until i saw you already included it! i like that one the best out of the two, but did you still want to do a desk? you may be able to find a smaller second-hand table and repurpose it for that space . . . ?

I really love how the room turned out! I'm sure your boys have the coolest room out of all their friends!

As a mother of boys
i'd go with the one that shows the least amount of dust, etc and the strongest, cheers Katherine
