FAMILY ROOM INSPIRATION

Yesterday I shared with you my family room painted Sherwin William’s Accessible Beige. Today, I wanted to show you a few of my inspiration pictures.

001

I was originally planning the design for my master bathroom when I fell in love with this beautiful Ikat fabric by Robert Allen named Khanjali in Glacier. It was perfect with my clearance shower curtain that I found at Target a few months back. While getting excited about that space, I thought that instead of focusing on another room that does not benefit our family as a whole, I’ll focus on a room that we all hang in—the family room!

009

This is the room that we gather in as a family and it is about time it received some love! So with this room on my radar, I started looking for inspiration for the space. It has to be kid friendly and it has to make mommy (and daddy) happy. Not wanting to put the use of this amazing fabric on hold, I’m using it as my starting point for the design of the space.

021

The stripe fabric was found at Hobby Lobby for $4 a yard! I purchased all 6 they had!

You may not be able to tell the true colors, but it has the prettiest shade of blue and a yellow/greenish color in it along with beige and an off-whit background.

Here are the rooms that I like that feature those colors

My color scheme for the room is blue and green. Again, I’m not sure if it’s the weather or what, but I’m feeling colors that are fresh and springy! The room must be both sophisticated enough for adults friendly enough for the kids. I can tell you now, I have my work cut out for me!!!

Now that you know my color scheme for the room, next I’ll share with you my plans and what I need for the room.

Before I go, I wanted to give a HUGE thanks to Dorothy and Sandra over at Calico Corners in Dunwoody! That is where I purchased the ikat fabric because it was a lot cheaper than at any other place I found! Plus they were so helpful. Oh and get this, where else do you know of that as soon as you walk into a store you’re greeted by name? Not because I shop there a lot, but because they read blogs!!! How cool is that?! I have never been so excited in my life to hear my name. Not only did she mention me, but she “knew Janell, Erika, Dayka, Cristi, Brian, and Claire! All of the fabulous Atlanta bloggers (well, except for Janell!).

So if you’re in need of great fabric selections and you’re in the Atlanta area, PLEASE stop by Calico Corners in Dunwoody and ask for Dorothy or Sandra! Tell them Lakeitha sent youSmile

The first two images are unknown (please let me know if you know the source!)

The last five are all Candice Olson Designs!

Love the fabric selection. It's amazing how you were able to find fabrics that coordinate perfectly with the shower curtain. The inspiration rooms are all gorgeous and give me a good idea of what your room will feel like when complete.

Perfect fabric finds! I love the Ikat print and agree Calico Corners is a great place to shop for fabric.

Oh how I wish we had a hobby lobby in CA!

I've never commented here. But I just want to say I love your family room inspiration. In fact, I used the exact same Calico Corners fabric AND the same Hobby Lobby fabric AND the Accessible Beige paint color for my son's nursery! Crazy huh? His nursery doesn't look "baby-ish" at all. I am in love with the colors and his room makes me so happy! Your room will look great too!!

Love the color direction and inspiration photos, too! I hope you still venture in the same palette with your master bedroom. I've been a huge fan of that Robert Allen fabric as well.

So cool that they read blogs over at Calico Corners. I've never been in their store, but with customer service like that I could be a permanent fixture!

Your fabric is very pretty! The Candice Olsen room is one of my favourite inspiration rooms for our basement tv room. It is long and narrow and I like how bright the blue, green and neutrals make that room.
