GOODWILL JACKPOT!

You guys know that I’m currently working on my sister in laws nursery, which has left me no choice but to put my two youngest boys room on hold for a while. You also know that no matter what room or who it’s for that I’m working on, I must make a trip to Goodwill! Well, the other day when I stopped in my local store, I ran across these

boys 462

boys 464
Six hand drawn vintage cars for 99 cents each!!! I mean SERIOUSLY!!! I grabbed those bad boys so fast! They are perfect for the soon to be car inspired room! This is by far my favorite find! And the fact that they are hand drawn is a major plus. Now, if any of you know or find out that these are worth a billion and one dollars, please let me know and you I both will globe trot for the rest of our lives;-)

**Edited to add**

Over this past weekend, I found this great Michael Kors leather satchel for $16.99! Now, that was a steal!

Oh and I did mention that I like to go into a thrift shop of sorts with any design I’m working on.

Reasons Being:

  • You never know what you’ll find

  • the prices will always beat retail

  • there is nothing better than having a piece that someone else will not have

  • its better to repurpose something than to let it go to a landfill

  • I love the thrill of the hunt

  • And I love to show you guys the before and afters:-)

How many of you go to second hand shops? I wrote a guest post for Janell a while back showing a few of my thrift store finds…Check it out!

I'm sharing this with Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality and her Todays Thrifty Treasures Linky!

Great finds! Those are really cool and unique! I am a thrift store shopper and love every minute of it! Why spend the money on new pieces when you can find them so much cheaper? Plus I think the pieces you find add to the personality and story of your room! I love the thrill of the hunt and using my creativity to repurpose something! Keep it coming girl, I love the inspiration!

What a great find, those cars will be a wonderful element in the room for the boys! I love shopping my own house (and my parents basement!) for items to repurpose, etc., but still have to get the knack of shopping Goodwill and the likes. Perhaps this fall when I have a bit more time!

Don't even get me started! I just scored the most beautiful glass & brass lamps for $4 at a local thrift store. Thrift is truly my favorite shopping destination - and you have just confirmed why! Great finds!!

Those are lovely pictures, I love them!! What a great find :)

I love shopping at the Goodwill Salvation Army etc....I too love finding great deals and giving them new life for my home and love love the prices.

Also like that buying from these stores help out my community since thrift stores like Goodwill / Salvation Army & WEAVE help the community and give back to the community...WEAVE is a must place here in N.Cali profits from sales go to help women and children escape abusive living situations.

There's no greater feeling than that
