BOARD AND BATTEN: I’m taking the plunge!

A few months ago, I noticed that everyone was starting to do board and batten in their home! I’ve always loved the look of it, but I had no clue that it could be done so easily! When Emily (Decor Chick) offered to share her tutorial on my blog last week my mouth fell open when I saw how easy and inexpensive it was!

Then I remembered that Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick did the same thing in her son’s “Big Boy Room”!

I know that this is not the ‘real deal’ board and batten as seen below, but it’s close enough to me!

By the way, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ROOM from Serena and Lily!

I can see it now, this room with board and batten! Woohoo! I can not wait!

What do you think about Board and Batten? Have you been wanting to try it? If so, what’s stopping you?!

Yes, I have been wanting to try it, but in a powder bath! What is stopping me? Trying to figure out how to work around a sink and toilet!! Now get to work, I can't wait to see this progress. Janell

This looks a little to technical for me to try, but I cheering you on. Can't wait to see.

I've done it. I really didn't read any tutorials beforehand. I just thought of my own way of doing it. I wanted to make sure everything was level. Here's my take on it.

I love the look of, just not our style right now in our home...but you never know down the line.

I would be really cute in your sons room.

I love it! and think it would look great in your boys room but I am just not as handy as you so I'd have to put this one on my honey-do list!

Even though it doesn't fit the style of my home, I love the look. A friend added it to her master bath a few years ago and (with the help of a family member who teaches industrial arts) said it was so much easier than you'd think. It completely took a basic bath to new heights.

I do love the look but haven't done it myself. Looking forward to seeing yours though!
