Dayka found this chair for me at the Goodwill a few weeks ago for $26
For a second, I thought this would be a good DIY project so I got to work pulling out the tacks
After removing the rusty staples and nasty stinky fabric, I was left with this
The foam is so old that it basically turns to dust when you touch it (ewww). And underneath the chair worries me (rusty springs)
Do you think I can fix these issues myself? If so, where do I start?!

i would probably leave the s[rings alone (unless you want to take it somewhere and have it professionally done), but the foam should be an easy fix yourself.
The springs are most likely fine. All you need to do is remove the old foam, etc and replace it, or place the new right on top, use the old fabric as a pattern and they have the upholstery tacks on a roll so you don't have to nail them in one by one...and you're good to go.
I like the approach of Tonia when it comes to the springs and foam. A great fabric and some beautiful tacks and this shouldn't be too hard of a project. Love the shape! Janell
This will be a great project to tackle diy style, the springs are fine, just replace the foam and padding. I would also use the old fabric as the template for your new fabric. You can cover up the bottom of the chair and old springs using, curtain lining if you want....It's going to turn out very nice!
I think the shape is so great, you have to make it work! I also think you can do it! Keep us posted. :)
Hmmm, I have no.ideas. LOL I am posting a find for input soon too.
I am LOVING my magazine!!! Actually it came again yesterday. There is an idea in this one I want to DO. Going to hunt the goodies after work. Read: Reason to visit the Goodwill. ;-)
