BENCHED

This title was really the best I could do.  Today I’m talking about benches in the kitchen and how I really want one.

I love bench seating in the kitchen especially when the bench is under a window.

I also love the extra storage they add in the kitchen

I recently purchased a wooden bench to use in my kitchen

I love that it’s made from reclaimed wood.  The size isn’t bad either.  It can sit all three of my boys and one more!

The only thing that bothers me with it, is that I have a round table and only one of the boys can sit on the bench at the table.

Because I don’t want to give up on my bench seating and the extra storage it adds to my kitchen, I decided to just add the leaf to my table (Though I actually haven’t added it yet)

Now all three of my boys can sit at the bench and eat if they want to!

I’m going to add a few pillows to the bench, but I doubt I’d add a cushion because I really like how the wood looks.  Now I need to go and find a few baskets to place underneath it.

What do you think about bench seating in the kitchen?! I’m headed back into the kitchen to finish painting the table and now the leaf Crying face

I benches are cute in eat-in kitchens, the added pillows will be a nice touch

Love the bench Idea! I also love the white color you chose for your table. I actually bought a table that I'm going to post on the blog that I would love benches for.

Hi, I'm a new follower; found you via Don't Disturb This Groove. Hope you'll follow back. I love your bench. I'm trying to find something to turn into a window seat with storage. I need a bench for when my 4 young grandsons come to visit. I'm looking for a drop leaf rectangle table as my apt kitchen isn't very large. I'm loving how the white looks, great choice. Also, thanks for the painting tips. I would love if you added one of your projects to my Frugal Treasures Tuesday Party going on now. Have a good weekend.

I just joined my blog after looking at Janell's blog. She is my muse too! She is so inspirational! My sister did my table and now I want a bench and repaint my chairs. I love the bench you found. I want something similar to that and baskets underneath too. My dining table is near my front door (I know a weird design but it works). I could store shoes and stuff. The big issue is getting everyone to put their shoes in there. I could start with the shoe basket to get them in the habit...hmm...probably a good idea. Didn't your table come with a leaf? If not, good luck finding the right leaf. My leaves are built into my table...which I need to post about.

Take care, Katharine
