KITCHEN STYLING

Last week, I didn’t have a chance to talk about my last topic for my kitchen which is styling.  When I say styling the kitchen, I’m talking not only to possibly obtain a nice picture for the blog, but also to get a good setup for how the kitchen is used daily.

What I’ve realize by looking at some of my saved images on Pinterest, is that my favorites are the rooms that keep “styling” at a minimum.  But to contradict that, sometimes the best pictures are of spaces that have a lot going on and that look “lived” in.

So I guess what I’m wondering is how much is too much when it comes to revealing a space on a blog? Do you take the extra step and make it look as if the space is being used (like the last image), or do you simply tidy up the space and toss in a plant and then snap away?!

If I'm taking pics I'll tidy up for a few mins, putting toys away of washing dishes. But keeping it real, I did a post today and left a few toys under my coffee table! lol, its real life (i only cleaned for 2mins)

But the way I my home looks in pics, is they way its lived with, does that make sense?

So if there apples, or limes out in a pretty bowl I bought them for a purpose to be used and not just to 'look cute'

I like clean looks in general to the home. So I usually like to have everything looking showroom ready, everything put away.

I really like that first kitchen space with the window/cafe-style seat around one side of the table. So communal and welcoming! :)

Kitchen styling has a lot to do with the homeowner's design preferences. Kitchens, being a home's command center, should be welcoming and functional at the same time. This doesn't mean that the designs have to be limited. They just have to adhere to a certain theme, and must be easy to keep tidy. :)
